The meeting of the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population of Kazakhstan Madina Abylkasymova with the ILO mission


The meeting took place during the visit of high-level tripartite mission to Astana. Mission headed by the representative of Germany Jan Farzan (Mr Jan FARZAN, Senior Legal Officer, European Employment and Social Policy of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs).

Welcoming members of the delegation, Minister of Labor Madina Abylkasymova noted that the Government of Kazakhstan creates all conditions for the development of social partnership institute, the rights and interests of the parties to the employment relationship. During the meeting, representatives of the ILO mission was given to develop a road map.

"In March of this year As you know, I was paid a visit to the International Labor Office, where it was agreed that within Misiii high level, we can conclude a joint roadmap to address the recommendations of the Committee of Experts of the International Labor Organization on the application of the Convention number 87 on Freedom of Association and Protection of the Right on the organization of the July 9, 1948 (the Road map). To date, the Road Map has been developed and agreed upon by all stakeholders "- said Madina Abylkasymova.

By the way, since January 1, 2016 in Kazakhstan has a new Labor Code that corresponds to the labor standards of the ILO and the OECD countries. It aims to develop the social partnership by expanding the participation of trade unions in the labor relations system, which is a confirmation of Kazakhstan's commitment to ILO principles implemented in the field of social and labor relations.

Today in Kazakhstan operate three national associations of trade unions, which represent almost 3 million. Workers. This is almost half of all salaried workers in the country.

In addition to them in the country has 38 branch and 22 regional, 401 local unions and 20,000 trade union organizations.

At the end of the meeting Minister M.Abylkasymova assured that the government of Kazakhstan to continue this work and will take all necessary measures to ensure compliance with national legislation all the requirements of the Convention 87.

Recall Kazakhstan since 1992 is a member of the International Labor Organization and fulfilling its obligations to the ILO, in accordance with its standards and national practices.
