An information campaign "Safe labor" is held to improve working conditions, reduce industrial injuries and occupational diseases in enterprises and organizations in 2019. This was reported by the Chairman of the Committee of labor, social protection and migration of RK Akmadi Sarbasov at the meeting of the Coordination council on safety and labor protection.
It is organized by the Ministry of labor and social protection of population of the Republic of Kazakhstan together with state bodies and social partners.
"As a result of accidents in 2018, 1,568 people were injured, of the specified number of accidents more than 500 occurred, unfortunately, due to the fault of the employees themselves", Akmadi Sarbasov said. He added that the information campaign is carried out to attract the attention of employers and employees of enterprises, companies, state bodies to the creation of healthy and safe working conditions in jobs.
Ministry together with social partners has prepared a Roadmap for the information campaign "Safe labor" in 2019. The roadmap includes the preparation of a National review on safety and health according to results of 2018; the adoption of a Comprehensive roadmap to reduce occupational injuries and jobs with harmful working conditions for 2019-2021; the approval of action plans to ensure safe working conditions in industries with a high level of occupational risk.
As part of the information campaign "The best company in the field of safety and labor protection"; "The best state inspector of labor", "The best technical inspector of labor" competitions will be held; cluster meetings on the prevention of industrial injuries, the settlement of labor conflicts will be organized; it is planned to hold a republican action "Together we will raise the culture of prevention in the field of labor protection".
According to the head of the Committee, particular concern is the failure to comply with the safety requirements of labor protection in enterprises and utilities, where people die every year when working in wells. Only in 2018, when workings in wells, 45 workers were injured, 7 of them died.
According to statistics bodies, last year, 672 thousand citizens of Kazakhstan, or every fourth were employed in harmful working conditions. "On the basis of the result of certification 672 thousand workers received compensation for work in harmful working conditions. For these purposes, 107 billion KZT was allocated, which exceeds the same period of 2016 by 8%", - said Akmadi Sarbasov.
